Once again I learned today how short life can be. A woman I never had the pleasure to meet left her body this morning and she inspired and changed more lives in the shortest amount of time… ever. She was a fighter, who was determined to live everyday to its fullest and she inspired others to do so too, even if it was unconsciously.

Jen Bulik-Lang

I learned of Jen Bulik-Lang’s story from her husband, my high school friend and fellow yoga teacher on the west coast. Through Facebook, Jeff told the story of their introduction, their marriage, her battle with lung cancer and their everlasting love for one another. When Jen was told she had four to six months to live, she decided they would get married, take a honeymoon and embrace life and live everyday as if it were her last. Till death did they part.

It’s weird when someone you’ve never met touches your life and you don’t get to tell them thank you, face-to-face. So thank you Jen. Your memory, actions, courage, compassion, face and warmth will forever live on.

May you rest in peace. Namaste.
