What a glorious day! I’m typing this post while listening to the rain and thunder! Can you believe it? No? Me neither. I never imagined I would miss the sound, smell and taste of rain as much as I do these days living through a drought. When I lived in Chicago, I never left home without an umbrella; these days my umbrella stand is covered in dust and I’m not even sure any of the umbrellas actually work! I’ve got my buckets outside collecting the rain water that I’ll reuse to water my plants, avocado and orange trees. Every little bit counts!

Living in California and always being outdoors, I long for rainy days and nights where I can sip tea or wine and read a good book or watch a good flick or make pizza! Pizza is my go-to comfort food when I feel like having bread and cheese and lots of it. Andy and I mostly make it at home because we enjoy trying new ingredients (like persimmons) on our pie. But I don’t just eat pizza for dinner or as a leftover at lunch. I make breakfast pizzas all the time and it’s a fun and creative way to jazz up the pizza experience. Plus it’s a healthier option than having a huge meal of bacon, eggs, hash browns, toast, etc, etc. Check out the recipe down below!

Everything in moderation right? I don’t eat pizza as much as I’d like because I can’t! I’m up by five every morning and eating to support my yoga practice as well as my lifestyle are a number one priority. It’s why I tend not to drink alcohol on the weekdays and not splurge on ice cream after dinner (something I just LOVE to do!). Waking up with a stomach ache is the pits; it’s the equivalent of being hungover all day! And who wants to suddenly have tight pants? You can tell yourself all you want that the dryer shrunk your favorite pair of yoga pants, but the truth is in your diet!

Oh! Speaking of yoga pants, and because this is a yoga blog, I found the best new pair of them and they hold you in so good, your pizza butt will look absolutely fabulous no matter what! Most of you know I’m a huge fan of lululemon athlectica because I think you get a lot of bang for your buck. Yes, you may have to splurge on a pair, but I guarantee you they will last forever! I change my outfit almost three times daily and I wash and dry everything. I have NEVER had a problem with any of my lulu gear shrinking or pilling, which is everything to me. I can’t afford to keep replacing pants so I spend the money to get the ones that will last the longest- while holding in my stomach and butt!

Behold the lululemon Compression Pant that does just that- COMPRESS! These pants were gifted to me and I looked online and they run anywhere from $98-$126 depending upon the style and length you want. These fit in all the right places! And they hit right to the ankle so there’s no bagginess and the edges are scalloped- so cute! I’m constantly seeing girls pulling up their pants during practice either to get their tush or belly back in it’s place but with these, you’re good to go! I snapped a few pics so you can see how perfect they fit… and although they are snug, there is plenty of room to get into your favorite pose or let’s be honest- to eat pizza in! They keep my Buddha Belly in and that is numero uno on my list of what makes a good pant. And no, I am NOT getting paid to say I like these. I’m not like that and I will never be a sell-out! I just really, really, like these pants and I bet you will too.. they do a good job hiding pizza butt!

Breakfast Pizza- serves one

Ingredients:

-small handful of pizza dough

-1/2 avocado, mashed

-2 eggs, to your liking

-tomato

-cilantro, chopped

-salt and pepper

-olive oil

Directions:

1. Start by rolling out the dough (if it’s not pre-made) with plenty of flour.

2. In a cast iron pan, get the temperature to medium-high and drizzle some olive oil. When the pan is warm, place the dough on top. It will take about 5 minutes to get both sides crispy so flip often.

3. Using half an avocado and some cilantro, mash them together in a bowl with some salt and pepper.
